i love these and want them but it’s not going to happen. maybe you would like some new wave white and pastel cowgirl boots…

from Learn To Read Vintage on Etsy. [i love Etsy!] of course the ridiculous thing is i kind of hope you don’t buy them. i still want them!

maybe i am most excited about the fact that i am thrifting again for fabric to make the 2009 SWANclothing items from. ya! i shopped around at “regular” fabric stores, and sigh… nothing really. so off to the thrift behemoths. i missed it! and i’ve found some nice things to work from. i’ll mix & match with some new fabric.

i love the eyelet insert on this 80s light denim dress. the fact that it is a single clean inverted triangle of such a sweet romantic fabric. love it. i didn’t buy it but it plays into how i want to work with some of my fabrics for SWAN.

if you follow my bloggings you’ll know that i favour vintage leather goods [shoes & jackets & totes mainly] over new leather goods. for a number of reasons- environmental, $, animals. and i make vegan totes. but over this past year i’ve had so many problems with my vintage shoes i’m not sure it is the way to go anymore. i mean endless polishing [understandable] and gluing [not understandable or at the least not good period] and visits to the shoemaker. so basically i’m using a pile of toxic glue and paying endless small repair bills. so. maybe i should buy NEW SHOES! and buy less shoes, just shoes that last. it still doesn’t solve the leather question. but this is just really irksome and i wanted to bring it up.

i haven’t posted anyone from wardrobe remix or any of the wardrobe groups on Flickr for a while. i love this outfit from Violetwired. which is all thrifted except for the socks. i’ve been expounding on the blacks lately but still loving the greys. Violetwired also blogs as The Ongoing Project. she has really nice taste.

this outfit is also posted in The Street Fashion – WORLDWIDE group. i’m realizing that as much as i love the wardrobe groups for their clothes, i really like to see people from all over the world posting images of where they live in the background. just like little postcards.

i love Izzy’ s outfit here. i’ve blogged her before. it’s funny, the internet being so endlessly huge, i keep coming back to my favourites. i just think this outfit is perfect perfect perfect. and Izzy is such an incredible inspiration :)

view here on Flickr.

just now checking back at the other Izzy outfit i blogged… they are definitely variations on the same theme! i really am a creature of habit. i have great habits.

well this is actually yesterday, but close enough. for the Flickr wardrobe_remix group and other Flickr groups too. continuing with my shirt [or blouse] under vintage t, and menswear theme. and everything is thrifted. buttondown boys long sleeve shirt. tiny wine leather 80s belt. the t i got in tokyo a long time ago in a vintage store, i reworked it since the graphic was weirdly sliding to the left. i wouldn’t rework such an old vintage shirt these days. but i am so glad i still have this one. it’s like some sort of thrifting trophy now. and i love my 80s highwaist pinstripe skirt which i never wear. you can’t see them here but i am wearing my wine leather 80s Cougar brogues. and i trimmed my hair. anyway, this is me.
