is this not ridiculously gorgeous? and it is even almost cold enough to wear it! which i did.

close ups here & here & here. and do look because the detail is beguiling. i don’t know all the terms so feel free to correct me [Mandy] but the body is a net-like knit, there is cabling running along the sleeves and the body and right into the ribbed hem [which seems to drive Mandy crazy, which is totally understandable], big scoop cabled neckline so i can layer galore, a cute yet gruff toggle, puffed sleeves, and a beautiful finish on the sleeves that draws them in, which i really love.

.sweater designed & knit by Mandy aka Yarnageddon. see her blog & flickr. and her new Yarn Bombing book which just came out!
.ebayed vintage black leather corset/tank, it’s like a leather boy thing for a leather girl.
.AA long tank
.thrifted 80s deadstock jeans that are LOOONG
.thrifted 70s vintage knee high black leather stiletto boots

it’ll still be a few weeks, but fall items are being schemed over. and heck! some have been built already but i’m holding back. fall! exciting!

and that’s a photo showing how my printer has run out of ink, so it likes to print everything in striated pink hues. it looks so nice, i just wanted to share.

i’ve always loved wrapping using what i have around. making something harmonious and oddly beautiful from paper and plastic findings is very satisfying. knowing that it will be ripped apart soon is part of its beauty. so i’m finally finding the time to do something a little more fancy for your packages starting now…

…here we have a little bouquet of plastic, bubble wrap, leftover striped tissue that i love, and some vintage wallpaper that was given to me. i have a whole roll! view larger here.

my compound dress from Valerie of Dear Birthday takes in some west coast sun in a rosebush!

i got a package in the mail! i’ve been looking forward to my compound dress and it arrived. i really really love Valerie’s work. she’s one of the reasons i started doing what i do with SWANclothing. i haven’t put it on yet, but i can say that the cotton feels so beautiful. the dress is tied in it’s own braided belt. and it came with a pile of gold stickers with a deer wearing a bit of birthday cake on it’s head. and one of Valerie and Ian’s [Valerian] beautiful cards. sorry my descriptive abilities are a bit lacking right now. all i can say is that everything is packed with brilliant sweetness and i can’t believe i am so lucky to have this.

more soon with the dress on…
